Now when you have the Emulator + the rom you extract the emulator file(it's a .rar file). In the folder that will then appear there is a program called "mupen64-rerecording-v2". Open this program. Then you go on file. Refresh ROM list first. After that you go again on file. Then you go on Load ROM. Select the SSB64 rom you just have. You don't have to extract it. The emulator can work with the rom.
Next I go on to the TASing. TAS stands for Tool Assisted Superplay. It means that you can play "perfect". The technique that is used for this is called frame advance. To see what button the frame advance is, go to options and then settings. After that you go to hotkeys and then you can see what the frame advance is set to. You can change it if you want.^^ I prefer space =p
Okay. Now we go on to how it really works. When you play and you use the frame advance key. The game stops. When you press it again it goes forward for exactly one frame. To make actions you press the buttons before you press frame advance. To make some actions you have to press nothing for one frame sometimes. For example when you jump and then want to double jump. You jump and after 14 frames you press nothing. Then the next frame you press the jump button again and then you double jump. At the beginning it's a bit strange but you get used to it the more often you use it.
There is one extra feature. It's called save state. These are important for TASes. With save states you can sace the current frame you are and with load state you can load it whenever you want. For example when you want to TAS a BSS. You know that you made it perfect up to this frame you currently are. But you don't know the next frames you have to do sth. Then you save this state and then you can test out what to do the next frames. So you can make mistakes and then you go back to the save state your were. You can see what buttons are save state and load state under options then settings and hotkeys again.
When you press the load state button nothing happens first. You get to your saved state when you press frame advance again.
When you have any suggestions go ahead and post them ^^ If I made some mistakes tell me what I did wrong. Sorry if it's a bit complicated. I try to make it simpler.

[glow=red,2,300]Advanced Techniques (also glitches)[/glow]
Here are some of the techniques I know so far. If you have more I'll add them^^
Teleporting Glitch
Abbreviated as TG. This technique or better said glitch can be performed by Jigglypuff, Samus and Fox.
Jigglypuff does it by holding the opposite direction for 3 frames while your running and on the fourth frame you press C-Jump and hold it. Jigglypuff starts to slide. Samus does it similar to Jigglypuff. But you still hold the opposite direction on the fourth frame while your press C-Jump. Fox performs it exactly like Samus.
Pikachu Up+B glitch
Pikachu can do his Up+B twice in the same direction. It can go twice Up/Down/Left/Right. I only found out how to do Left/Right atm. To perform this you have to be on the ground. When you do Up+B press Diagonal Down-Left/Right and he will go horizontal Left/Right. Then you can just press Left/Right and he goes again in the direction you used before.
Double Jump Cancel Also known as DJC. This technique can only be used by Ness and Yoshi. It is when you jump and double jump and then cancel it with an attack. This allows these two to make attacks very fast and just above the ground. It's useful in competetive gameplay but also for BtT and BtP. There is also a glitch with this technique. It's called DJC-Rush. But it's only useful for Ness bcuz only he can take full advantage of it. You start the initial dash(first few frames of the dash) and then hold the jump button for two frames. The next frame you just hold the direction you were running in. On the fourth frame you press jump again and finally on the fifth frame you do an attack. (Preferably AUA). But only the attack. And don't hold the direction you were running in. It gets cancels immeadiatly and then you can use your initial dash again. Ness initial dash is faster that's why it's more usefull for him bcuz Ness is then faster than normal running. Yoshi has a slower intial dash. That's why it makes him slower than normal running.

Hi, you should probably take down the links to the ROMS, since it is illegal and we don't want this site to get shut down (even tasvideos.org, the main tas website on the net, does not allow its users to link to ROMs).

Sense this place is getting up to speed I would advice doing this as well it did not really matter at first, but I think a change of events has occurred. I may get rid of them now just incase someone comes sneaking around soon
