People have always told me to never question video game logic, but i do anyway xD. Why do the targets float? I have don't really know why im making this thread anyway, but besides that, isn't break the targets fun?!

You never question logic of SSB64 games.

Targets float because they pockets of pure energy. (</claiming potentially false facts with no scientific reasoning>) The target model is an illusion brought on by light. I imagine rupturing a pocket of energy would stun you for a moment, which could explain the hit lag. Also, when you break it, it doesn't simply collapse. This object is clearly releasing something.

How do we know that the targets float? SSB is a 2-dimensional world, I was under the impression that everything that we see is bolted onto a wall just behind the characters (which would also explain why that cant move in 3 dimensions)

well SSB is kinda like 2 and a half dimensions... theyre 3D characters in a 2D world.

Fireclimbers, that's a cool 'think-outside-the-box' topic.
Never thought why they actually float.
That was also random.

if targets were bolted on to a wall, how would they move? there would have to be tiny thingymabobers moving the targets around if that were the case. though the targets containing pockets of energy seems logical (or at least as logical as this game can be xD)

since the targets are 2D....wouldnt it be hard to see the targets in the characters point of view? it would just look like a red line

I believe it could be 3D.

i believe they are 3D but like, in kindergarten, youre teacher would show you shapes some would be flat others not (like tanagrams) she would say these are 2D and these are 3D, the 2D ones arent actually 2D they have some width but not as much as the 3D ones shown. i believe the targets follow suit. with a little width but not much.
