From No1 Inparticular, thank him for the guide.
Hey guys. In a final attempt to spur some kind of interest in this mode, and since I'm (mostly) done with Brawl, I've decided to attempt making a guide that simply explains how this mode really works. It isn't all random ****, as it may appear. There is a specific way to actually get lower scores without wanting to throw your controller out the window. You just have to be able to remember simple things like the order the first 4 alloys die in and how to push the start button to pause the game, both of which are very easy to apply. For the most part, it wont take you any longer than 20 minutes or so to get sub 10 with mostly anyone (with only a couple annoying exceptions). I wont try to suggest any real goals or go around and tell people to play it. I'm about 90% sure that no one will read this guide, and even more sure that the mode will continue to become underplayed just because HRC and BtT both exist. As of now, I see this guide as just me getting this over with, knowing that someday, some one may actually want to try this mode, and actually make an attempt at understanding how to get good scores in it.
You will see videos from this YT channel frequently as you read about the characters, so I feel like I really should put this here:
www.youtube.com/user/No1Inparticular1
I'll start by listing the information you should know (no, it really isn't hard at all):
Pause Cancel (PC) - Pausing as much as you want in the actual run so you can max things and predict what the alloys will do better. It is no different than a pause assisted (double, triple, whatever) bat drop in HRC. You also have to pause to stop the clock for the clone to spawn. The way this works is there will be an alloy that takes the second from left icon spot on the bottom, the one right next to the icon of the character you are playing (This alloy ALWAYS spawns on the top right, conveniently). After you kill this alloy, there will likely be another few. If your hit on this alloy gets another, and the result there is 3 enemies left (including clone), you will have to wait close to a second before you will be able to pause the clone out. However, some strats will be where this alloy spawns early, and is killed with 4-6 (has to be 5 OR 6, can't be 4th alloy to die, or you will get another one). Well, either way, after the attack after the 2P icon alloy is killed, this is when you will be able to pause the game for the clone. Here's how it works : you keep pausing the game until you get a pause where you hear the game disc loading in your Wii. When you get this pause, keep it paused until you hear it stop. The clone will ALWAYS spawn the frame right after the pause. It is better to prepare the attack before this pause, to hit the clone faster. For the chars that throw the clone to their death, just simply press whatever to grab RIGHT after the pause, and throw them quickly.
Kill order (alloys 1-4) - The order the first 4 alloys die in makes the ending (alloys 6-9) alloys spawn a way that works the best for a certain character. The default kill order for example makes it so alloys 6-9 can get killed before, or during, the final attack that act as the finisher. There are only very few exceptions to this. Also please understand that if alloys 2 and 3 die very closely together (in time), you will get the 2P icon alloy to spawn early, but the kill order shouldn't be effected.
Trigger Alloy - Like I mention above, only I'll try to be a bit more clear, and give this guy his own part. The trigger alloy is the alloy that spawns on the top right, and the one with the icon spot right next to your own (hence the name "2P icon alloy"). This aloy will always spawn as part of the 6-9 formation, but can be "hacked" out earlier if 2 and 3 die together, and a 4th alloy dies before him. After you kill this alloy, then you will have to do some kind of attack after, until you will be able to PC the clone out. Remember that there has to be only 2 alloys on screen, and the 2P icon alloy is dead. Try to see it this way. If your attack only kills the 2P icon alloy, then you must do another one, and you should be able to PC instantly after that alloy dies. However, if the hit on 2P icon alloy hits another alloy as well, then you will still have to wait about a second until you can PC. So you might as well do another attack, to simplify things a bit. If this alloy dies as the 5th one, as a result of 2/3 dying together, then you will be able to PC instantly after there are only 3 enemies left (2 alloys + clone)
Here are the different patterns I will try to explain.
P1 = Green, Yellow, Red/Yellow or Yellow/Red (doesn't matter as long as blue is A5)
Green = Right alloy at beginning (A1)
Yellow = Left alloy at beginning (A2)
Red = Bottom alloy after Green dies (A3 or 4)
Yellow = Right alloy after Yellow dies (A3 or 4)
^ The basic pattern for chars that need the last 4 alloys to come close to them before the final attack, this one is the most common.
P2 = Green, Blue, Yellow, Red
Green = Right alloy at beginning (A1)
Blue = Left alloy after A1 dies
Yellow = Left alloy at start
Red = Bottom alloy after A1
^ This one is rare, only a few chars do this one. It's for the chars like Falco and ZSS who can reach the alloys on the left quickly as
part of their finishers.
P3 = Green, Red/Yellow, Blue
Green = Right alloy at beginning (A1)
Red/Yellow = 2-3 (Doesn't matter which one dies first, but they have to die together, to get the 2P icon alloy to spawn quickly)
Blue = 4
^ Rare, for chars/strats that just need to spawn the clone quickly
P4 = Green, Yellow, Red/Blue, Yellow
Green = Right at Start
Yellow = Left at Start
Red/Blue (doesn't matter what order they die in) = Red jumps from below, blue left after you hit the second alloy.
^ Also very rare, for chars that can kill the 2P icon alloy and be able to get the remaining alloys quickly, despite them beong on the
other side of the arena after the clone gets hit by some attack.
P5 = Yellow, then get the next 3 alloys in the same attack, I don't know the order of going this way after yellow.
^ Can't really explain this, you will probably never do a left to right strat anyway...
Character strats + statistics
Mario (7.85 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5xqbQuYU2o&feature=channel_page)
Attacks for alloys : ADA, U Smash/Tilt
Attacks for clone : Up B (don't suggest doing this one, very hard), D Smash, F throw.
Pattern : P1.
Tips : Just try to hit all the alloys with ADA, and only consider a U Smash/Tilt if you don't feel good enough with alloys on the
platform. After you kill the first 5 alloys (Blue has to be the 5th alloy that dies), you will get the P2 icon alloy (top right,
remember...), you will be able to do another attack to get another alloy. After you kill this alloy, you will be able to pause the game
for the clone to spawn. If there are still alloys left when you can PC, then try D Smash to U Smash ending, and hope that the U Smash gets the last alloy or 2. For the (very hard) WR ending, look at my vid.
Luigi (7.91 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy_22BJ8dIs )
Attacks for... everyone : Aerial down b (yes, it has to be started in the air, or doesn't work).
Tips : It doesn't really matter what alloy you get first, just keep doing the aerial D Bs for everyone, including the clone. I can't
explain much for this guy, you just have to be creative for him.
Peach (8.45 WR can be found here : www.youtube.com/profile?user=No1Inparticular1&view=videos )
Attacks for alloys : AFA, Up Tilt/Smash, F Smash
Attacks for clone : AFA, F Smash
Pattern : P1 (doesn't matter very much if 2/3 die together, as long as they die quickly)
Tips : Rely mainly on AFA and U Tilt, most of the other attacks are pretty pointless.
Bowser (8.78 WR video can be found in my last "mostly complete" compilation)
Attacks for alloys : AUA, U Tilt, Up B
Attacks for clones : ADA
Pattern : P1 or P4
Tips : P4 is the WR strat, but I think 1 could beat the current one. P1 is the easiest to understand, but you have to look at my 8.78
vid and watch it closely to understand it, and it actually a bit easier when you get used to it. It's debatable though, both strats are
pretty annoying, but just keep at it, and you will get it.
Donkey Kong (8.36 WR vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn5S81opMA8&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, U Tilt
Attacks for Clone : F Smash
Pattern : P1
Tips : Pretty much just copy as well as you can from my 8.36 vid. You can experiment with other things for good results, but I'm not
going to explain them. Just know that you can get descent scores by switching the kill order around a bit.
Diddy Kong (7.48 WR vid can be found here: www.youtube.com/profile?user=No1Inparticular1&view=videos
Attacks for alloys : ANA
Attacks for clone : Up B
Pattern : P1
Tips : This guy is hard, just try to copy from my vid as closely as you can The attacks and pattern is pretty simple, but alloy
cooperation is hard. You can try different things with him, as long as you use these main attacks (specifically ANA)
Yoshi (8.43 WR vid can be found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0Rx-diFH7w&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : D B, AUA, U Tilt, Up B
Attacks for clone : D Tilt
Pattern : P1
Tips : Just try to use the basic kill order here, and apply it the best you can, watch my vid here closely.
Wario (8.23 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5xqbQuYU2o&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, U Tilt
Attacks for clones : F B (Bike ftw)
Pattern : P1
Tips : This guy is also kinda hard, you just need to be mostly patient for him.
Link (8.21 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=94HWaQgG_-w&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : D B, U Tilt, ABA (only for A1)
Attack for clone : Up B
Pattern : ... whatever end up happening >_>
Tips : After you do a ABA for alloy one, pull out a bomb and throw it left, it doesn't really matter which/how many alloys it hits. You
can do this for the end as well, and just finish with a f b. He's another guy you have to try to be creative with.
Zelda (7.96 WR vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SZe3KQdleI&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, F B, U Tilt
Attacks for clone : U Tilt
Pattern : Whatever you want, really, I suggest you try to use F Bs to your advantage, like I did in this video.
Tips : Can't really explain, just remember to pause if you need to to make some parts easier.
Ganondorf (8.75 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9P4vnYAmgA&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, U Smash
Attack for clone : F Smash
Pattern : P1
Tips : Just watch and copy stuff from the vid, making sure the U Smashes nail the alloys.
Toon Link (8.23 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5xqbQuYU2o&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : F B, AUA, U Smash
Attacks for clone : Aerial Hookshot (aerial Z)
Pattern : P3
Tips : Be patient with this guy, he is actually one of the harder ones. Try to get the AUAs to hit multiple alloys, and you can AUA for
A1 if you want, it doesn't really matter.
Zero Suit Samus (Samus) (7.45 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0Rx-diFH7w&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for Alloys : F B, AUA
Attacks for clone : F B
Pattern : P2
Tips : ... Good luck, copy vid, etc.
Pit (8.75 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5xqbQuYU2o&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : ADA, D Tilt
Attacks for clone : FB, F Smash, ABA
Pattern : P3 or P4
Tips : ... good luck, he kinda sucks >_>
Ice Climbers (8.40 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uQVsXS-NXE&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, U Smash
Attacks for clone : D Tilt, F Smash
Pattern : P1
Tips : Just copy WR vid, but make sure that the 2nd yellow alloy dies before the red one, if you want the ending to go the same way as I did here.
ROB (6.96 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLN0CBaf1TQ )
Attacks for alloys : ANA, D B (weird top thingy)
Attacks for clone : ANA
Pattern : P1, P2, or P5
Tips : Just try different strats with ANA, you have to be creative here. If you want the lowest score, try WR strat.
Kirby (8.65 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5xqbQuYU2o&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : U Tilt, U B
Attacks for Clone : F Smashing, aerial forward b
Pattern : P1 or P2
Tips : Not much I can say here, just good luck. For the most part, patterns 1 and 2 are the only ones that work for good scores with
him.
King DDD (8.65 WR vid found in same compilation as Kirby)
Attacks for alloys : U Tilt, ANA, F B
Attacks for clone : D Smash
Pattern : P1 or P2
Tips : Good luck, he's kinda the same as Kirby really.
Meta Knight (7.48 WR video : www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3du36wXSAA )
Attacks for alloys : AUA U Tilt
Attacks for clone : Up B, D Smash
Pattern : P1
Tips : ... meh, good luck. Just remember to follow the kill order. Alloys 2 and 3 don't have to die together as long as the 2nd yellow alloy is the 4th one that dies, and not the blue one.
Olimar (7.80 WR vid here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=27bJLS-7dNM&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : Up B, U Smash
Attacks for clone : Up B or D Smash
Pattern : P1 or P2.
Tips : Pattern 2 (in video) is actually pretty easy, only the ending is hard. You can make the ending easier, but slower, by doing a u
smash on the last alloy then doing the Up B for the clone.
Fox (8.18 WR vid here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsYZBJI8qj8&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, F B, D B, U Smash
Attacks for clone : D B, D smash
Pattern : P1 or P5
Tips : Good luck, pretty hard...
Falco (7.91 WR vid here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=njLklG80Nw8&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AFA (only for P2 strat), AUA, Up/Back Throws, U Tilt
Attacks for clone : F Smash, back throw.
Pattern : P1 or P2
Tips : The strat in my WR vid actually isn't really hard at all, it's easier than many other strats you may end up having to do. Just
follow it exactly as I did here.
Wolf (8.26 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0Rx-diFH7w&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AFA, AUA, N B, U Smash/D Smash/F Smash
Attacks for clone : F Smash, D Smash, N B
Pattern : P1
Tips : Meh, none really.
Captain Falcon (8.66 WR here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy_22BJ8dIs )
Attacks for alloys : ANA, U Tilt, AFA
Attacks for Clone : U Tilt, N B
Pattern : P1 or P3
Tips : Meh, just good luck, you'll likely really need it for this guy.
Pikachu (7.43 video (I now have 7.40) : www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq8_i4AsNHI&feature=channel_page )
Yavi also has a 7.25 vid out there somewhere, and he even has 7.01 with the same strat, but a video has never been made. You can also try strats with just consist of thunders on the right platform for an easy sub 10 (sub 9 if you really get it). Even I've gotten 8.33
using just D Bs on the right platform before. x)
So, just do whatever you want for him, D B being the best attack to use. This is the easiest char in 10MB, really.
Charizard (PT) (8.18 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivwUECAc5JM&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AFA, F B, U Tilt.
Attacks for clone : AFA
Pattern : P1 or P3
Tips : Good luck, WR strat isn't THAT hard...
Lucario (8.96 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7j9Cr5Uz_8&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : ADA, U Tilt
Attacks for clone : F Throw
Pattern : P1
Tips : ... He is actually easier than that looks, just sub 9 is the problem. I actually got sub 10 with him all the time.
Jigglypuff (8.25 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIMoQRxy3tM&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : F B, AUA, U Tilt
Attack for clone : F Throw, D Smash
Pattern : P1
Tips : If you actually get the f throw for the clone to work in a "good" run, then kudos to you, seriously. It took me a couple months
>_>. So yea, unless your pretty patient, do D Smash for the clone.
Marth (8.15 WR vid can be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy_22BJ8dIs )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, U Tilt
Attacks for clone : F Smash, Up B.
Pattern : P1
Tips : Good luck, sub 10 is mostly easy. It sucks I never really could get a good score for him with the P1 strat >_>.
Ike (7.90 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNbiJdafmeE&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, N B, U Tilt
Attacks for clone : F Smash, F Tilt, F Throw (?)
Pattern : P1
Tips : WR strat isn't really that hard, even for sub 9. Sub 10 is mostly easy once you understand it. Just make sure that the order goes
right. I myself once even got 8.55 with P3 order once...
Ness (8.40 WR vid here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH7V1S25stc&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : U Tilt, Up B, U Smash
Attacks for clone : D Smash (F smash if that proves to hard for you)
Pattern : P1
Tips : Not really anything, try to do things like I did in above vid.
Lucas (no good vid anywhere >_> )
Attacks for alloys : Up B, U Tilt, U Smash, F Smash
Attacks for clone : Up B, F smash, D Smash.
Pattern : ... I guess P1 and P2 are the best ones.
Tips : Just do Up Bs and stuff, and whatever that can hit the last couple enemies.
Mr. Game and Watch (no really good vid anywhere...)
Attacks for alloys : AUA, Up B U Tilt, Up Smash, Down Smash, Down Tild, F Smash
Attacks for clone : F Smash, D Smash
Pattern : P1
Tips : Meh, just good luck really getting what to do with out a video. After you kill alloy 1, do a Up B to hit the end one, and after
that, just keep the kill order the right way, and you'll get something eventually.
Snake (7.51 WR vid can be found here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0Rx-diFH7w&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, U Smash, U Tilt, N B
Attacks for clone : F Smash
Pattern : P1 and P4 work the best with him.
Tips : Mostly just keep trying things with him like what I did in my vid, and you'll get something eventually.
Sonic (8.36 WR vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJqwJQzPoSo&feature=channel_page 8.70 vid by Astr0
www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQWl2IKMqk8&feature=related )
Attacks for Alloys : AUA, U Smash, ADA
Attacks for clone : ADA, D Smash
Pattern : P1
Tips : Sonic is really hard, but you should be able to get something with him eventually, if you remain patient with P1 strat. I
recommend trying the strat in Astr0's video more than in the one used in mine.
My 4:44.96 compilation : www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NEn0Ve0tpMnd
That's all I have for now. Be aware that you can edit these and make newer, maybe easier, strats you make on your own. I just wanted to state at least the methods (attacks, strats, etc.) used to get times similar to what I have for every char. I don't expect you to be able to complete all of them, but I think if you are patient enough, you could. Remember to pause whenever you really want to with every character, they don't show up in the replays, so abuse it as much as you can really. Of course, all of this only really applies to you who will eventually read and actually try to use this guide to help your 10MB scores. Well, if you do, good luck, and ask anything if you need help. I'm really sorry if this whole thing ended up being confusing, it really is pretty complicated stuff, and I'm pretty bad with explaining things in general. I'll probably update this guide as time goes on.

Attacks for alloys : D B, U Tilt, ABA (only for A1)
Attack for clone : Up B
Pattern : ... whatever end up happening >_>
Tips : After you do a ABA for alloy one, pull out a bomb and throw it left, it doesn't really matter which/how many alloys it hits. You
can do this for the end as well, and just finish with a f b. He's another guy you have to try to be creative with.
Zelda (7.96 WR vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SZe3KQdleI&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, F B, U Tilt
Attacks for clone : U Tilt

Attacks for alloys : F B, AUA, U Smash
Attacks for clone : Aerial Hookshot (aerial Z)

A1 if you want, it doesn't really matter.

ROB (6.96 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLN0CBaf1TQ )
Attacks for alloys : ANA, D B (weird top thingy)
Attacks for clone : ANA
Pattern : P1, P2, or P5

him.

Attacks for clone : F Smash, back throw.
Pattern : P1 or P2
Tips : The strat in my WR vid actually isn't really hard at all, it's easier than many other strats you may end up having to do. Just
follow it exactly as I did here.

Jigglypuff (8.25 WR vid : www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIMoQRxy3tM&feature=channel_page )
Attacks for alloys : F B, AUA, U Tilt
Attack for clone : F Throw, D Smash
Pattern : P1
Tips : If you actually get the f throw for the clone to work in a "good" run, then kudos to you, seriously. It took me a couple months
>_>. So yea, unless your pretty patient, do D Smash for the clone.
Marth (8.15 WR vid can be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy_22BJ8dIs )
Attacks for alloys : AUA, U Tilt
Attacks for clone : F Smash, Up B.

Attacks for alloys : AUA, N B, U Tilt
Attacks for clone : F Smash, F Tilt, F Throw (?)
